Once again your words transport me to each scene. I, too, long to see a painted bunting. There are a few that live in Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh so maybe I'll start there!

I bet you see one before I do!

I did not know that Spartina had a new name. Thank you for your research, your knowledge and your gift of beautiful writing. Such a talented writer you are.

Your descriptions are beautiful....I felt hot, salty, dry and sweaty all at the same time. Your words transported me to this place.....along with your photography. Thank you.

Mesmerizing descriptions of our beautiful region of the country.

There aren't enough words in my personal lexicon to express the feelings your descriptive words brought to mind other than amazement at your extraordinary skill at painting a word picture.

Looks like a painting.

I'd love to see a painted bunting. So far, the only one has been the signed print by Cherrie Nute that we've had for years.

Tom, this is a wise and deeply observant piece. I live ten miles from Folly Beach and have seen the great expanses of marsh in every season and condition. It’s a majestic and lush green in summer. Same with the small patch of marsh and tidal creek outside my apartment. Almost every day around sunset I’m out for a walk gazing at and admiring the lush Spartina grass ( I’ll call it that for now) and taking pictures of the sun setting in back of the marsh. What a beautiful world. I’m grateful.

When I see a dry marsh it bothers me. Too much of man's meddling along the coast.
